Cooking with Love: A Taste of Heritage, A Gift of Hope
Proceeds support women and children in need across Serbia, Kosovo, and Republika Srpska

“Cooking with Love” is more than a cookbook — it’s a heartfelt collection of treasured recipes shared by Serbian families around the world, united by a common purpose: to bring comfort, nourishment, and support to women and children facing hardship in the former Yugoslavian countries.

This beautiful cookbook was born from a Lifeline Chicago mission trip that visited women’s shelters and orphanages in Serbia. Moved by the strength and resilience of the women they met — and the compassionate work being done to support them — a group of dedicated volunteers launched a project to fundraise through food, tradition, and community.

A committee based in Florida reached out to Serbian Orthodox communities, family, and friends across the U.S. and around the globe. The response was overwhelming. From California to Canada, Germany to Australia, home cooks of all ages lovingly contributed their favorite recipes — many passed down through generations.

The result is Cooking with Love — a unique, deeply personal celebration of Serbian culinary heritage. Each page evokes the warmth of a family kitchen, the scent of a simmering stew, the joy of gathering around the table, and the memories of a grandmother’s lovingly prepared dish.

Since its publication in 2020, cookbook proceeds have provided tangible support to those in need — including funding sewing machines for a women’s shelter in Sombor, where women now make and sell handcrafted dolls as a path to independence.

By purchasing this book, you’re not only preserving tradition — you’re helping rebuild lives.
Add it to your own collection or gift it to someone who loves cooking with meaning and heart.
