Help Create a Warm Welcome for Children Without Parental Care

Project #2: Reception/Greeting Room Renovation – $10,150 (estimate 2024)
Location: Zvečanska 19 Orphanage | Belgrade, Serbia

Imagine walking into a space meant to be filled with warmth, celebration, and community—only to find worn furniture, faded paint, and outdated lighting. For the children at the Zvečanska 19 Orphanage in Belgrade, this is the current reality of their reception area.

This space is much more than just an entryway. It is where the children greet their teachers, counselors, and visiting family or friends. It is where Christmas gatherings are hosted, milestone moments are celebrated, and everyday conversations help shape a sense of belonging.

We are seeking $10,150 to transform this important room into a welcoming, functional, and comforting environment. With your support, we can:

  • Sand and varnish wood panels and cabinets

  • Replace worn ceiling lighting with energy-efficient, modern fixtures

  • Paint walls, ceilings, and doors to brighten the space

  • Provide new furniture—tables, chairs, and sofas—to create three separate seating areas

  • Hang cheerful new curtains

  • Install new doors and radiator covers for safety and aesthetics

Every child deserves a space where they feel safe, valued, and proud to welcome others. With your help, we can give them just that.

Please consider taking on this project as a fundraiser or making a donation today. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on the daily lives of these children and young adults.

Together, we can help them feel at home.

Help Us Rebuild a Place of Hope: Remodel the Orphanage Library

Project #3: Library Remodel – $12,500 (estimate 2024)
Location: Zvečanska 19 Orphanage | Belgrade, Serbia

At the heart of one of our partner orphanages lies a quiet, forgotten space — the library. Tucked next to the reception area on the main floor, this room has the potential to become a safe haven where children can learn, dream, and grow.

But it needs your help.

We are seeking individuals, families, church groups, student organizations, and service clubs to adopt this project and help raise the $12,500 needed to transform this room into a bright, functional, and inspiring space.

This remodel will create a space that encourages curiosity, supports literacy, and provides essential access to learning tools. It will include:

  • Sanding and varnishing the original wood panels

  • Painting the ceiling and walls to brighten the space

  • Installing new doors to let in more natural light

  • Replacing the worn flooring

  • Updating the electrical wiring and lighting fixtures

  • Adding three new computers, a printer, and supplies

  • Furnishing with round tables and 24 colorful chairs

The directors and counselors at the orphanage envision this library as more than just a room with books — they see it as a place where children build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and discover the joy of learning.

Will you help bring that vision to life?

By taking on this project as a fundraiser — through events, donation drives, or a giving circle — you can give these children the tools they need to imagine a brighter future.

Lifeline will support your efforts every step of the way and share progress updates from the renovation.

Adopt this library. Ignite a love of learning.

Every child deserves a place where they can dream. Let’s build it together.

Give Comfort to a Child in Need

Project #4: New Bedding for Zvečanska Babies Orphanage – $3,000 (estimate 2024)
Location: Zvečanska 19 Orphanage | Belgrade, Serbia

As part of an ongoing renovation at the Zvečanska Babies Orphanage in Belgrade, several children have been temporarily relocated to nearby facilities. These children—already experiencing uncertainty in their young lives—now face the added challenge of unfamiliar surroundings without some of the most basic comforts of home.

We are seeking to raise $3,000 to provide new bedding and linens for these little ones. This includes:

  • Soft, clean sheets

  • Warm blankets

  • Protective mattress covers

  • Fresh, supportive pillows

  • Extra supplies of linens for daily needs and hygiene

For children living without the care of a family, even small comforts like a cozy bed can make a world of difference. It offers not just warmth—but a sense of dignity, safety, and belonging.

We invite individuals, businesses, churches, schools, and community groups to take on this project as a fundraiser. Your effort—big or small—will directly impact the lives of babies and toddlers during a critical time of transition.

Please consider adopting this project and giving these children the comfort and care they deserve.

Because every child deserves a soft place to rest their head.
