Maksimovic Elementary School

Lalinac Village in the district of Niš Serbia

$15,950 Needed (Note : 2024 estimate)

Project: Renovation of the School Bathroom – $15,950
Location: Lalinac Village, Niš District, Serbia
Beneficiaries: 20 preschool/kindergarten students + 60 students in grades 1–5

Currently, all 80 students—ranging from toddlers to young children—must share a single outdated bathroom with only three stalls. The conditions are poor, and the infrastructure is failing. Cleanliness, hygiene, and safety are all at risk.

This renovation will include:

  • Full plumbing replacement

  • New floor and wall tiles

  • Updated stalls and toilets

  • Electrical work

  • New fixtures, doors, and mirrors

This basic necessity—a clean, safe bathroom—is something no child should go without. With your support, we can restore dignity and create a healthier, more respectful environment for learning.

🏫 Support Students Living Far from Home – Sponsor a Dormitory Project in Ivanjica

In the hills of southwestern Serbia, 200 km south of Belgrade, stands a dormitory that serves as a lifeline for 70 high school students from nearby villages (selo). Many of these students live too far away—or in homes without running water or internet—to return home each day.

Originally built in 1949 to house the army and converted into a dorm in 1975, the building is showing its age. But within its walls, students are working hard to build a better future.

We invite individuals, families, churches, businesses, and community groups to take on one of the projects below as a fundraiser or donation drive. Your support will have a direct and lasting impact.

🛏️ Project #1: New Bedding & Mattresses – $15,000 (estimate 2024)

The Serbian government recently provided 15 new bunk beds and 30 mattresses—a generous first step. But the dorm is still in urgent need of:

  • 20 more bunk beds

  • 40 additional mattresses
Help ensure every student has a safe, clean, and comfortable bed to sleep in.

🪑 Project #2: New Chairs & Desks – $6,475 (estimate 2024)

Outdated and damaged classroom furniture makes it hard for students to focus and study effectively. This project will provide:

  • 70 new study chairs

  • 35 new desks
Give students the tools they need to succeed academically.

🌳 Project #3: Outdoor Clean-Up & Seating – $3,000 (estimate 2024)

A clean and welcoming outdoor space encourages community, mental wellness, and pride. This project includes:

  • Repairing and purchasing new garbage cans

  • Repairing and purchasing new benches

  • Installing 3 new picnic tables with benches for outdoor study and connection

🛌 Project #4: Extra Bedding Supplies – $2,000 (estimate 2024)

Clean bedding is essential in a shared dorm environment. This project will supply:

  • Extra sheets, pillows, blankets, and mattress covers
Ensure every student has access to hygienic and comfortable linens year-round.
